Election Time

Election Time in New Zealand! This year I am proud to say I am working as a Voting Place Manager, ensuring that our democratic process is made available to any eligible voter who visits the booth.

My day will start at about 7:30 when I arrive at the voting place to set up, organise the 12 other staff there to get ready for a 9:00 a.m. open time. Doors close at 7:00 p.m., & the reconciliation and counting begins. The preliminary results are then phoned through to headquarters, where they are immediately released to the media.

In 24 hours, the initial election result should be known.

Nothing more from me until then!

Live, laugh, Love!
